The aeronautical project aims to transport people to different destinations in Colombia, where they can take off on land and land on the sea or river to provide a different experience.

On April 25, the new airline submitted a request to the Civil Aeronautics with the objective of providing air services with seaplanes to the Colombian Caribbean such as Santa Marta, Barranquilla and Cartagena.

This company could transport 9 to 11 passengers on a flight in which it can take off on land and its destination is to land on water.

Alma would have been created by several investors, which is being led by Irelandia Aviation and one of its intentions is to be able to carry out charter flights at the end of 2024. Likewise, it aims to redefine those limitations that are usually established when traveling, the intention is that People can explore different areas of the country.

These flights can be made to any destination that has a sea or river in Colombia, such as the Caribbean Coast, which has different beaches such as Barú, Playa Blanca, Isla del Rosario, Mompox, Punta Gallinas, Puerto Colombia, Cabo de la Vela, such as others more.

Rupert Stebbings, commercial director of Alma spoke out and said that: “We have a clear vision and that is to contribute to a unique, personalized and exciting way of tourism in Colombia, which will connect people with the most beautiful remote areas of the country and the region. Too often, tourists can’t get to destinations they’ve seen on the Internet or even time constraints don’t allow for that extra adventure. We want to challenge that and encourage tourists to fly to that destination they dream of and that will remain in their memory for a lifetime. To carry out this ambitious project in Colombia and South America, the team is made up of professionals with long experience in the sector such as Jhon Luna, who will be the Director of Operations and Francisco Lalinde, special advisor. “Among them are decades of experience and knowledge at the service of aviation and tourism in Colombia.”

He also added his intentions to be able to collaborate with communities that are in remote areas and that need or require medical attention quickly and safely, Alma will be able to reach any destination in the country and in a short time: “Beyond new experiences travel that we want to bring to Colombia, there is another extremely important service that our planes offer. The same remoteness that often makes travel difficult can also be an obstacle when it comes to people’s health and well-being; For this reason, we want to support the Ministry of Health in medical evacuation issues where and when necessary. “Arrival by rivers and lakes could be the only solution in some parts of Colombia when it comes to taking patients to the nearest hospital or clinic, and for that, seaplanes play a fundamental role.”
