Due to recent violent events, leaders of the Peace Community in San José de Apartadó denounce the displacement of eight families from the area. They launch an alert due to a serious humanitarian situation.
Constant threats, extortions and the theft of tools and machinery for the development of agricultural activities that in recent days have been reported in different areas. of the township of San José in Apartadó
have already generated displacements.
This was reported by Arley Tuberquia, one of the members of the Internal Council of the Peace Community, who assured that they have reports of eight families who have already abandoned their areas of residence. The most critical situation occurs in the La Esperanza and La Resbalosa villages.
“And the families, as a precaution due to the risk of imminent threats, which are families that have had to move and there are also threats against other families in some paths of the landslide San José Apartadó
and they are in worrying situations,” he stated.
In the event that these violent events that generate fear in the inhabitants of this area continue to occur, Tuberquia assures that in the coming days there could be the displacement of up to ten other families that have been identified as being at risk.
“There are two families that have left the territory for safety, the other families have had to leave the paths and they are in one of the places in the community where there are more members where there are more families in the community,” he added.
Once again, the Peace Community invited national and international entities to take effective measures and accompany the security situation that has been worsening. They claim, since the murder of a woman and her son on the Las Delicias property in the La Esperanza village in mid-February.
