Some colleagues who participated in the meeting are part of the Plaza Almagro Assemblies, Boedo, Colonel Díaz and San FeIn addition, they have long been sharing common organizational spaces in the workplace and in open meetings at the premises, to discuss the challenges ahead for the Milei governmentfacing the vote on the Omnibus Law in the Senate and the general strike called by the CGT for this May 9.

The exchange was opened based on the mobilization against the vote in deputies of the Base Law, also from the enormous educational march on April 23 and the organization that the neighborhood assemblies are promoting, in the places of work and study. Faced with this, the question arose about what climate and spirit was seen in the different spaces and what was the opinion of the strike called by the CGT, as well as about the approval of the Base Law by deputies.

David, retired colleague of the Plaza Almagro Assemblyraised the need to discuss what to do, whether or not the law was approved in the Senate, he said that this law, if approved, would be very regressive for the people as a whole and he wondered if “the cultural battle” had been lost. .

Maju, also retired and part of the Plaza Almagro Assembly, stressed that there was a lot of ignorance about what was being voted on, what key points this law includes and added: “We must go out and discuss it with everyone, explain and account for the attack it implies for the workers.” A question that ran through the meeting was: “Why, on the day the law was discussed in deputies, was there not the massiveness, as if there was on March 24, March 8 and in the educational march?”

At this meeting, there was no shortage of youth. Juliana, dancer and UNA student, highlighted that, “the march in defense of public education changed the climate at UNA, many students were mobilized as had not happened until now and they are beginning to talk a little more about the entire situation, although everything has not yet been transformed. that in greater organization. There are many fights and dispersed marches, we need to think about how to coordinate all that force to strike together.”

A kitchen worker, who participates in the cacerolazos of Coronel Díaz and Santa Fe, said: “Neighbors who voted for Milei are starting to participate, because the electricity rate increases can no longer be tolerated.” He added: “Other neighbors who claim to be Peronists are disoriented, but wanting to do something about the situation, we must discuss with them to bring them closer.”

Florencia Saracho, Telecom worker and part of the minority of the FOETRA unionraised the key points of the Base Law:le grants delegated powers to the government; labor reform that makes us more flexible and takes away more rights; the elimination of the retirement moratorium, increasing the retirement age and also, allows the privatization of public companiesbetween them Argentinian airlines, where there are already more than 150 layoffs in the main outsourced company, GPS. He said that its workers are promoting a fighting fund so that the fight does not break down due to hunger. He added: “How different it would have been if the CTA, which brings together important unions such as the subway, aeronautical, state, teachers and others, together with the CGT, had called for a strike and mobilization the day the Bases Law was discussed in deputies.” He called to redouble the mobilization and the demand for a strike, the day the law is discussed in the Senate. And he did not stop denouncing the collaborationist sectors like the PRO; the UCR; he Pichetto block, Federal Innovation and a Peronism sector who voted in favor of the large investment incentive regime, favoring large businessmen, in addition to governors such as Jaldo and Jalil, who say that, “we must help the government” and how the CGT was part of negotiating this labor reform. Finally, he pointed out: “Myriam Bregman, together with the deputies of the Left Front, made a great complaint in Congress, about the points that were being discussed and who the political leaders were, with a massive arrival of millions on social networks, TV and radio channels, which show the impact their interventions had. Our benches are at the service of showing a voice that represents the working people, denouncing and questioning the arrangements and businesses that a handful of deputies create behind their backs and, against the interests of the majority, while at the same time we bet on the broadest mobilization in the streets to stop the government’s plans.”

Andrea, a call center worker, stated that together with the Network of Precarious Workers, they were thinking of going to the call centers to fly, the call for a general strike and also to mobilize the day the Omnibus Law is discussed in the Senate. He said that in the call centers, the situation has been difficult with salaries that are not enough and working in precarious conditions, with many being single mothers and heads of household. Therefore, the importance of telling your colleagues what the labor reform that they want to pass with this law that “makes us precarious and takes away our rights” is about.

Eze, also part of the Almagro AssemblyHe said: “I find it difficult for the CGT to call for a mobilization, we have to organize from below.” There were interventions that the unions are our workers’ organizations, that we are committed to building strong political union groups, to fight in each workplace and to recover them from the roots. “We have to aim to reach the base of the unions, because we know that their leadership is bureaucratic, that they are screwed to their chairs. And continue strongly promoting neighborhood assemblies, where we meet and coordinate between different sectors.”

Pablo, companion of the Assembly of Scalabrini and Corrientes, said: “We must question the union centers, because they do not really fight for the self-organization of the workers, very different from what we have been building in the neighborhood assemblies, where everything is decided and voted democratically, where we can express our opinions. “We are the workers who can really fight for true self-organization and direct democracy in our places of work and study, it is that self-organization from below that can recover the unions so that they are truly directed by the workers.”

As part of the conclusions, they resolved that it is a very important task for the next few weeks: to talk to all of their study, work, and neighborhood colleagues to tell them. What is the purpose of the Bases Law in the Senate? At the same time, the need for us to discuss the demand to the CGT and CTA that May 9 be an active strike, with mobilization. Being thousands in the streets is where we can really twist the arm of the government and complicit deputies to bring down this law altogether.

From the PTS, we want to continue promoting and developing all the instances and forms of self-organization that arise.with the aim of fighting a program to exit the crisis, economically and politically, for those who carry it out. the working class, in alliance with the unemployed movement, the women’s movement and youth, we are the only ones who can give an alternative way out of this crisis. That’s why We are preparing to go to a great meeting between different sectors of employed and unemployed workersto organize the unity below all the sectors of assemblies, places of work and study, we want be a front of struggle to throw out the DNU, the Omnibus Law and the overall adjustment plan”.

“That is why we want to open these meetings for political discussion, while we share experiences in the construction of common groups, in places of work and study, neighborhood assemblies and other forms of organization. And within the framework of this experience, addressing a A very important point is how we can build a true revolutionary party, a workers’ party that aims to end all types of oppression and exploitation that we experience in this system.”.
