He Ministry of Security and Justice works intensely in the fight against drug trafficking in the province of Mendoza deactivating gangs dedicated to the marketing and distribution of drugs.
Through a series of strategic operations, in collaboration with the Police Against Drug Trafficking (PCN) and the Federal Justice223 points of sale of narcotics have been disrupted throughout the region since the beginning of 2024. This achievement, as highlighted by the head of the PCN, Flavio Morenorepresents a direct blow to drug distribution networks, commonly known as kiosquitos.
The operations, which include simultaneous raids and other measures, are being implemented in various neighborhoods and strategic areas of the province, such as Campo Papa, Cinco Mil Lotes, January 26, Lihué, Housewives and Huarpes neighborhoodas well as in areas of the East, Uco Valley and the provincial South.
Flavio Moreno stressed “that important gangs dedicated to the marketing and distribution of drugs have been dismantled, as well as the capture of several criminals.”
As a result of the operations carried out during the year, the uniformed officers have seized a total of 10 kilograms with 742 grams of cocaine and 25 kilograms with 746 grams of marijuana. Likewise, 168 people linked to activities related to drug trafficking have been arrested.
At the same time, the seizure of 1,128 marijuana plants, 310 doses of LSD and 20 firearms has been achieved. In addition, 42,412,120 pesos and 10,000 dollars have been confiscated.
On the other hand, from the PCN The deployment of illegal drug detection dogs stands out at strategic points in the province and in bordering areas, such as Desaguadero, Encón, Ruta 40 (border with San Juan and Neuquén), Route 188 (border with La Pampa) and the Bus Terminalamong others.
All these actions are carried out with the active participation of forces such as Gendarmerie, Federal Police, AFIP and Airport Security Police (PSA)which demonstrates a coordinated and multidisciplinary approach in the fight against drug trafficking in the province.
