105 years after her birth, the Justicialista Party will remember María Eva Duarte de Perón with an event that will be held at the monument that commemorates her figure in Evita Square on Entre Rios and Syria avenues in the city of Salta.

The ceremony, which will bring together leaders and militants of provincial Peronism, will take place starting at 11, according to the program prepared by the Permanent Commission of Tribute of the PJ of Salta.

From the PJ headquarters, where the members of the party’s Provincial Council met yesterday to analyze the situation of the country and the province as a result of the adjustment measures of the national government, it was recalled that Eva Duarte was born in the Buenos Aires town of Los Toldos on May 7, 1919.

In 1944 she met and married General Juan Domingo Perón and from that moment on she developed a transcendent role in the Argentine political scene.

One of its main achievements was the women’s suffrage law. On September 9, 1947, Law 13,010 was passed, which was known as “the Evita Law” which granted the right and enabled all women in the Argentine Republic to vote.

From there, the formal incorporation of women into the political sphere of our country began, PJ Salta recalled.
