Furthermore, the publication is among the ten best philosophy journals in Latin America.

In the second quartile (Q2) of scientific journals was RHV, a publication of the Faculty of Humanities and Education of the University of Valparaíso. In this way, the RHV becomes the magazine dedicated exclusively to philosophy articles with the best indexing in all of Chile, also remaining in the group that occupies the 25 to 50 percent with the best international ranking in this area, while at the same time among the ten best philosophy magazines in Latin America.

According to Professor Juan Redmond, from the UV Institute of Philosophy, one of the directors of RHV, “it is an academic commitment that incorporates the development of human capital, that is, the training of undergraduate and graduate students in the tasks of editing scientific journals.” In this way, he assures, “the project carried out by RHV magazine also contributes to the graduation profile of our careers through learning results and key performances, contributing to the development and assurance of the quality of education.”

RHV’s Q2 position was confirmed by SCImago Journal & Country Rank [Índice SJR], a platform that provides indicators on the quality and impact of publications and journals based on information from Elsevier’s Scopus. The SJR index of a journal is a numerical value that indicates the average number of weighted citations received during a selected year by papers published in that journal during the previous three years. Higher values ​​of the SJR index indicate greater prestige of the journal. According to this index, the journals are grouped from Q1 to Q4, with the first being the one with the greatest academic prestige.

It should be noted that a few days after being promoted to Q2, according to confirmation from Clarivate Analytics, RHV was included in the Emerging Sources Citation Index (ESCI) of Web of Science (WoS), the international collection of scientific publication databases. most important in the world.

The directors of RHV are Juan Redmond (UV Institute of Philosophy), Rodrigo Lopez-Orellana (UV Institute of Philosophy / Institute of Science and Technology Studies, University of Salamanca, Spain) and Shahid Rahman (Department of Philosophy, Université de Lille, France).

Juan Redmond highlights that “these achievements would not have been possible without the support of the Directorate of Libraries and Learning Resources (DIBRA) of the Academic Vice-Rector’s Office of the UV, especially the support of its director, Patricia Reyes, and Rodrigo Castro, coordinator of UV Magazines Platform and Institutional Repository”.
