The ‘grapple’ between the governor of Magdalena, Rafael Alejandro Martínez and the Superintendent of Home Public Services, Superservicios, Dagoberto Quiroga Collazos, over corruption problems within the District Public Services Company, Essmar, denounced by the former, goes for long.

Not 72 hours passed when Martínez assured on his social networks that Superservicios knows in depth what is happening in that Company with the arrival of Intervening Agent Jorge López Echeverry and has not commented on the matter, when the somewhat cautious response of the Super services.

Indeed, today through his social media platform, more precisely through his account

As will be remembered through messages in the middle of last week from Governor Martínez following a visit made by Superservicios, officials from the Ministry of Housing, the Mayor’s Office and Essmar itself, a unionization message was exchanged with almost all the directors of the company that operates the water, sewage and public lighting systems in the city.

However, during the last hours, the Superintendent of Public Services, Quiroga Collazos, used his social network account .

Although Quiroga did not dare to deny the existence of a corruption scandal in the entity, he only limited himself to inviting the departmental leader to focus on concrete solutions instead of just criticism.

“The problems in Santa Marta are not new, they require a joint effort to solve. I expect concrete proposals, because criticism alone will not resolve the historical debts of the State,” expresses the somewhat subtle message that is considered the response of the Superservicios to the Governor of Magdalena.

It was learned that, since mid-April, within Essmar, corruption problems were reported in the purchase of unnecessary items where money from the entity was used to pay for certain whims of directors who have the endorsement of the Intervening Agent.

Even as a result of an investigation carried out by the District Personnel for cost overruns in the purchase of some items, there was the almost massive departure of several intermediate-ranking managers who would be immersed in those cases of corruption that keep Essmar with a deficit that exceeds 90 billion pesos.
