Councilor Yamith Vanegas spoke about his complaint about contracts within the Mayor’s Office of San José del Guaviare, which indicates that there is a conflict of interest and corruption. Among the contracts that are registered in the system, one for 18 million in the name of the Orión Construction Company for painting and other repairs to the Mayor’s Office headquarters and an agreement with the company Empoaguas for 500 million that should be used to address damages in the sewer system.
In his statement, the Councilor says that a marketing study has been requested, since unjustified cost overruns appear in that contract. He points to Mr. Walter Correa, who appears as the legal representative of the Construcciones Orión Company that was hired to formulate the Development Plan for more than 200 million pesos.
Councilor Vanegas pointed out that during the week the complaints will be filed with the respective evidence, he says that this function granted to him by the opposition statute is not a reason to act in retaliation for the results of the last elections, finally he expressed that He has given his full support to the mayor in what he considers actions that benefit the Mayor’s Office.
