Traffic accident investigated in San José – Telemundo Bay Area 48

A cyclist died after being hit by the driver of a pickup truck who was allegedly speeding Tuesday morning in San Jose.

The incident occurred around 7:23 am, in the area of ​​Senter Road and E. Capitol Expressway.

Police spokesperson Danny Hernández said the suspected driver was in a red truck when he hit the cyclist and a white truck.

The cyclist was pronounced dead at the scene, while the driver of the white van was treated at the scene after experiencing pain.

Hernández explained that the suspect was detained and taken to the hospital.

Additionally, authorities added that the area where the accident occurred will be affected for several hours, so they recommend drivers take alternative routes.
