During the month of April, local music production took a new leap in terms of the number of publications. As in March, in the fourth month of the year the crisis did not seem to have an effect.

On the contrary, the large number of launches that took place in recent weeks confirm the specific weight of Córdoba as one of the main productive centers at the national and regional level. The local scene, as vast as it is happily unfathomable, resists external attacks despite everything. Month by month – and it is enough to review what I know in this space -, that becomes evident.

Below, a tour of much of the music from Córdoba released between the beginning and end of April. Before, as in each delivery, some stragglers from the previous month.

March

On the 9th, the group Las Maquetas made their debut exclusively through YouTube. The band was filmed in mod garage and recorded Polaritiesa song that is inserted in the tradition of shoegaze and the most ethereal alternative rock. It is also the advancement of The surrealwhich will be the quartet’s first album.

Between March 24 and April 23, Barrio Limbo released three songs as the inauguration of a musical series that will continue adding releases as soon as possible. On the 5th, Rago published the second part of Child dark circles, an album that had started in 2022 with the launch of its Side A. A year and a half after the release of those first five songs, the remaining four arrived that complete this work produced together with Rodrigo Molina. Beyond the passage of time, the urban artist once again makes it clear that his musical instinct and his interpretive versatility distinguish him from the average.

A day later, and from Arroyito, Matías González presented a first work in which, with the exception of specific contributions from Henry Di Bernardo and Juan Arce, the musician took charge of all the interpretation and artistic production. Is about From here, an EP that brings together five of the singer-songwriter’s own compositions and a version by Fito Páez. Throughout the six songs, the musician explores the most classic tradition of Argentine rock at a sound and concept level.

On the 9th, as a farewell, Los Buenos Tiempos published the song You knew how to be there, recorded with the participation of Rosario Serafín. The song, with elegant harmony and contemporary sound, closes the cycle of the project formed by Grego Díaz Espinosa, Tomi Insaurralde and Javi Libra. They will be missed.

On the 11th, the group Salas Velatorias shared the single successor to their debut album. Almost a year after the release of their self-titled album, the post-punk and experimental rock project premiered animal Kingdom, track in which he shows his lively and electrifying sound and his proposal of “music to cry and dance” (with sax included).

On Thursday the 18th, Mixo Logia debuted with the single PIC. The pop project of Tomás Correa and Patricio Oliva premiered the instant song along with a festive video clip directed by Fabri Carrizo. The executive production was carried out by Container Records, while the musical production was the joint work of Patricio Caorsi and Renzo Luca.

On the 19th, David Fontana presented AmorphousEP that had advanced with three singles previous ones and was completed with two new jewels: white blood cells and The songs. This small musical universe (irreverent and psychedelic by nature) was produced together with Tati Falco and Bernardo Ferrón. It also has the guest participation of Ignacio Ruibal, Juan Sans, Nicolás Garriga, Ana Belén Gómez, Ampar Basualdode Ana Belén Gómez, Araceli Bonfigli, Juli Baravalle, Juan Pauletti and Mariano Cocimano.

For its part, CCI KIU premiered Wherever you arethe first preview of what will be his fourth studio album, Glitter. Produced by the artist herself, the luminous and effusive track It has a luxury band: Rodrigo Lagos on bass, Matías Herrera Astudillo on drums, Bruno Cravero on keyboards and synthesizers and Guadalupe Toledo on choirs. “It makes me very happy to be able to share this song with you. I want you to enjoy it, listen to it and share it because I have enjoyed every moment of this beautiful construction process,” said the singer-songwriter.

In parallel, the group Jinetes shared their new single, I’m still going to continue. This is the second preview of the third album by the Jujeño quintet based in Córdoba. Like the rest of the album, it was recorded at Gran Rosa studios by Matíasu Ruda (who also mixed) and Santiago Ludueña. For the video clip, meanwhile, Nora Dorado (editing and editing of video and cover), Mariano Cicero (camera) and Augusto Conta (main actor) participated.

That same day, Obi Homer published Southern watercolors, his fifth album of compositions and instrumental arrangements. The guitarist presented 12 new pieces, among which a five-part folkloric suite stands out.

On the 22nd, Mattola, a solo project by Mathias Leonel Moreno, made his debut. Produced by Tati Falco, and with contributions from drummer Luis Tovar, this cadence rock singer-songwriter stones He started his way with a track brimming with retro vibes and spirit. “After work the reward came and I am happy to share the music that I carry in me,” she wrote when presenting the song on social media.

On the 24th, Paz González premiered In the citya song that follows his first EP, almost sacred, and which comes after the live session he published last year. With production and arrangements by Ignacio Haymal, the song exhibits the interpretive power of González, who also stars in the video clip directed by Ana Rapi & Facundo Gelosa.

On the 25th, the Percantas Dúo, formed by Norma Duarte and Vanesa Palacios, released their first album, As it is. Recorded in Iceland Studio with a luxury team, it features the participation of Jorge Martínez (arrangements and piano), Julieta Duret (violin), Pablo Jaurena (bandoneon), Javier Pérez and Lucas Sanchez (double bass), Emiliano Arce (guitar) and Eli Fernández (vocal coach). “It is our first ‘musical photo’ in tango and it means the beginning of a career that, with each passing day, we embrace more strongly,” say those responsible.

For his part, Muscalopio presented a self-titled EP with the aroma of a refoundation. Formed as a trio, the experimental pop project formed by Punga Pinozza (keyboard, guitar and vocals), Kriss Alonso (synth, percussion and vocals), and Carolina Rabinovich (programming and vocals) premiered five new songs (manga and anime, featured) and a new sound palette. With production by the band, the album was recorded and mixed by Paulo Gimenez and Jeremías Gigena at Villa del Lago Records and mastered by Fede Murúa at Estudio Föld.

The next day, Euge Celli released a solo song again after two years and published the beautiful ballad Nothing but today. Composed with her brother Santiago and Nahuel Barbero, the recording of the song was produced by Diego Mema. Also published a visualizer starring the artist and produced by Pi Audiovisuales.

In turn, El Cofla shared the acoustic version of lost on the moon, a song previously released in 2023. With the participation of Santiago Celli in the composition, the musician decided to recreate the most naked version of the song. “We wrote the song like this: guitar and voice, so I felt it was worth sharing it in this way,” said who is also the current guitarist of the ex-Salvapantallas’ band.
