Independiente Medellín played its best game so far this year in Peru. Without the obligation of the League on top and only focused on the Copa Sudamericana, those led by Alfredo Arias were immensely superior to César Vallejo and reflected it on the scoreboard with a resounding 5-1, which marked their second victory on Peruvian soil (in 2017 he had beaten Melgar in the same tournament, 2-1).

DIM will visit Defensa y Justicia, next Tuesday, May 14, and will close the group stage against Always Ready at the Atanasio Girardot, on the 29th of this month.
The last time Medellín had scored 5 goals was in the classic against Nacional, on December 3 of last year (5-0). Furthermore, this becomes one of the club’s most important victories at the international level and the seventh for a Colombian team, which scores 5 or more goals, away from home in a competition of this nature.
