Mayor’s Office of Armenia and Uniquindío sign contract to work on road works –

The contract is for studies and designs of 5 work fronts in the city.

For a value of $1,892 million, the mayor’s office of Armenia and the University of Quindío signed an inter-administrative contract to advance the infrastructure works planned for the city.

The contract then includes a design in phase 3 for a road computer located in Mercedes del Norte, this work is part of the Valorización projects.

Vulnerability study for the La Florida bridge, since according to James Padilla García, mayor of Armenia “it has been almost 60 years without having an in-depth study except for the one carried out by the National Highway Institute, Invías, of which has a lot of information”.

What will be done is to “bring this mobility structure to the current norm and traffic conditions,” stated the Secretary of Infrastructure Claudia Arenas Agudelo.

Rehabilitation design of 20 kilometers of road throughout the territory, including parts such as Av. Centenario, Cra. 15 Norte, Calle 2da Norte, Cra. 23, La Fachada, Bosques de Pinares among others.

Prefeasibility via Chilacoa – Armenia National Road – El Edén Airport, Arenas Agudelo stated that “it is a road that is projected for one kilometer with 2 bridges and that would benefit more than 88,000 Armenians who are part of communes 1 and 2 and all that traffic tourism that comes to us from Montenegro through the Coffee Park.”

Once the University of Quindío finishes its activities, “with the Development Plan we are already studying what the sources of execution will be. It is a challenge but of course we will be accompanied by all the oversight bodies and control entities (…) all procedures will be carried out in accordance with the law,” said Padilla García.

The delivery of these works is scheduled for within 6 months and will be carried out by a team of Uniquindian experts in the technical, administrative and financial aspects. In turn, the local president promised to obtain nearly $200,000 million for the execution of the works.
