The Pilots from Huila shone in the valid ROTAX Max Karting National Championship held in Cajicá in Cundinamarca. Sebastián ‘Tatán’ Garzón won the victory in the youth category and Sebastián Vanegas was second in the Junior category.
Huila confirmed in the valid ROTAX Max Karting National Championship that was fulfilled at the Cajicá Kartodromo, which has two high-class drivers to fight for the National Championship and international participation.
Sebastián Tatán’s reaction, Garzón, was euphoria for achieving this first place in a category higher than the one he normally competes in, in a brief message on his Facebook account, he expressed:
“Great weekend in the 7 valid @rotaxmaxColombia, I am excited and very happy with these results since it is my first time in this category. I thank God to my TS RACING team for their great work, to my family, sponsors, @rotaxmaxColombia and all my category colleagues, what a great level.
On the other hand, Sebastián Vanegas, in dialogue with LA NACION, referred to his presentation that took him to second place on the podium in the Junior category.
“This weekend I was participating in the 7th Valida of the ROTAX Max national championship in the Junior Max category in Cajicá,” he responded.
And he added that it went very well, “I was always very fast, I managed to qualify in second position. I won Heats 1 and 2, however, both times I was penalized for sticking my trunk, which gave me a place of 4th in the final.”
According to Vanegas, The final was very close since he had an excellent start and when he was first he had a small crash that made him lose speed, however, he recovered and was 2nd on the podium. “It was excellent work with my team. The idea is to score points in the championship.”
He added, “I am trying to lead this national championship again since two races ago I had a mechanical failure that dropped me to third place, we are fighting to lead again and become national champion to be able to go and participate in the world championship in Italy,” said.
He added that he is planning to run again in the United States for some valid ones since there is an excellent opportunity in his career, however, it has not been easy since running in the United States is very expensive and they have not been able to have sponsorships or support of any kind. which makes them more difficult.
