Casanare spreads its wings at the Global Big Day » PRENSA LIBRE CASANARE

This May 11, Casanare participates in the Global Big Day international event that seeks to record birds in a single day, with the aim of encouraging the participation of the Casanarean community in the conservation of birdlife and promoting the tourist potential of the department.

The Global Big Day offers participants the opportunity to get involved in birdwatching and contribute to scientific knowledge about Casanare’s biodiversity. The event will have four categories of participation, each with prizes that include binoculars and specialized books.

Conditions of Participation

Define one or more points in the department of Casanare to record birds on May 11, 2024.

Form teams of up to five (5) members, with a name and unique identifier.

Register before May 10, 2024.

Have a user on the eBird platform (www.ebird.org).

Download the eBird mobile app to record bird sightings.

Actively participate in the bird registration day on May 11, 2024.

The Directorate of Culture and Tourism of Casanare, in collaboration with Corporinoquia, Parex and Geopark, invited all interested parties to join this experience and demonstrate the department’s commitment to the conservation and promotion of bird tourism. It is an opportunity to show the world the natural wealth of Casanare and its potential as a tourist destination.
