This measure will affect nearly 24,000 passengers, according to the airline.

Aerolíneas Argentinas confirmed that it has canceled 191 flights, within the framework of the general strike on May 9 against labor reforms, the privatization of state companies and the Income Tax. This measure will affect about 24,000 passengers, and will represent a cost for the company of about US$2 million, said the state company.

In a statement, the company indicated that, of the total number of people affected by this measure, around 18,000 had scheduled trips on domestic flights, 3,000 on regional flights and another 3,000 on international flights.

Some 8,000 passengers had already made voluntary date changes, so the remaining 15,000 will be able to modify their tickets free of charge up to seven days after the date of the strike.

Among the cancellations, there will be 162 flights in the domestic network, 27 regional and 2 on long-range international routes. In the case of international routes, rescheduling was also carried out on another 13 flights to adjust their schedules outside the scope of the union measure.

“We deeply regret the inconvenience that this measure will cause to our passengers. Aerolíneas Argentinas will continue working to offer a quality service, keeping operational safety as the main priority,” the company indicated.

Passenger information

– Do not go to airports or branches during the protest day, since there will be no in-person assistance from airline personnel.

– “We recommend using the self-management channels in the Aerolíneas Argentinas application (available on iOS and Android) or via the website www.aerolineas.com.ar, where you will also find information about other service channels,” said Aerolíneas Argentinas.
