The councilor of the Autonomous Community (CA), Lola Terrazas will appear this Wednesday at 4:30 p.m. at the Delcc offices, in the Tres Mi Planl, to testify about a complaint filed by the Santa Cruz Mayor’s Office. The opposition councilor described the complaint as a “trout complaint” that has “neither head nor tail.”

The complaint alleges that Terrazas, in her capacity as acting president of the Municipal Council During the 55th session of the past legislation, he would have committed crimes of resolutions contrary to the Political Constitution of the State by exempting the reading of a bill to modify the regulations of the Municipal Council.

However, Terrazas assures that the bill was not approved and that the correct procedure was followed. “There has been no modification to the Municipal Council regulations due to lack of votes,” he stated.

The councilor also questioned the jurisdiction of the Public Ministry to investigate these types of cases, when the constitutional route should be followed. “It seems like a lot of ignorance on the part of the mayor’s advisors,” he said.

Terrazas suspects that the complaint is retaliation for his oversight work. “I believe that the goal that Mayor Jhonny Fernández has is that, that is why he makes a trout complaint to us. “This is political harassment,” he noted.

In that sense, he expressed his indignation at the use of public resources to build cases against the councilors who supervise the mayor. “There are public officials who are spending hours of work in putting cases against the councilors that we supervise, when instead they should be defending the assets of the people of Santa Cruz, the more than 100 properties under control, or in following the cases of corruption that They have taken millions of Bolivians from this municipality,” he said.

Terrazas assured that she is not afraid of the consequences of the complaint and that she is ready to defend herself. “There is no fear, what there is is, rather, indignation at the mayor’s way of proceedingthat they are making a habit of making trout complaints to councilors that we supervise,” he said.
