Jobs in San Luis Potosí increased in April

Formal jobs in San Luis Potosí increased in April, according to data issued by the Mexican Social Security Institute (IMSS).

In this sense, San Luis Potosi was located in the 16th place nationallywith a growth in jobs registered with the IMSS of 3.0%, compared to the same month last year.

Likewise, in relation to the creation of jobs, the “Mexico, how are we doing?” from INEGI reported that they created 7 thousand 795 formal jobs in San Luis Potosí, in the first quarter of 2024.

With this, the entity exceeded the goal of 6,825 jobs, projected for this period. At the same time, the arrival of new companies that will generate more jobs has already been announced.

Formal jobs in San Luis Potosí: how are we doing at the national level?

According to the IMSS report, the entity is among the entities that did perceive growth percentages:

• Quintana Roo: 6.5%
• Gentleman: 5.2%
• Mexico City: 5.1%
• Chiapas: 5%
• Nayarit: 4.9%
• Oaxaca:4.6%
• New Lion: 4%

However, the state of Potosí ranked number 4 at the Bajío level:

1. Querétaro: 3.9%
2. Aguascalientes: 3.5%
3. Guanajuato: 3.3%
4. San Luis Potosi: 3.0%
5. Jalisco: 2.5%
6. Zacatecas: 0.1%

Jobs affiliated with the IMSS in Mexico in April

At the national level, the IMSS reported a monthly increase of 84 thousand 857 jobs in April 2024. In the first four months of the year, a total of 349,816 jobs have been created.

In addition, as of April 30, 2024, there have been registered 22 million 374 thousand 202 jobs at the national level, of which 86.1% are permanent jobs and 13.9% are temporary.

Regarding the economic sectors, those that generated the most employment in April 2024 were:

• Transport and Communications (7%)
• Construction (5.2%)
• Commerce (3.5%)
• Social and Community Services (2.8%)
• Business Services (2.8%)
• Electricity (2.5%)
• Transformation (0.4%)
