The Santa Marta Metropolitan Police, headed by Colonel Jorge Andrés Bernal Granada, managed to capture Rodrigo Jailen Blanquicet Prado, alias ‘Yoyo’, who is considered by the authorities to be the ‘Tinder Terror’ in the capital of Magdalena.
The capture procedure was carried out in the San Andresito sector, after a thorough investigation that lasted ten months. The report delivered by the police institution indicated that the individual was part of the criminal group called ‘Los Todoterreno’, said common organization was dismantled on June 27, 2023.
On the other hand, it was possible to establish names, surnames, aliases and functions that each member of the organization fulfilled, such as creating false profiles on the social network called GRINRD, Tinder and Badoo, dating applications for people from the LGBTIQ+ community.
According to the police report, the subjects contacted their victims by that means, then set an appointment and picked them up near the place where they were staying, in sectors such as Rodadero and the Historic Center, to convince them to board a taxi and in some cases opportunities to intimidate them with firearms in order to direct them to the Avenida del Río sector, exactly to the Villa del Río neighborhood.
“While there, they were forced to walk up to the Cerro de las Tres Cruces, where they were approached by the rest of the members of the criminal group, who intimidated the victim with firearms, knives and blunt objects, beating them and stealing. their personal belongings, the majority of the victims were tourists who came to see the city,” said the statement delivered by the authorities.
