In this regard, the head of the Tourism and Protected Areas portfolio of Chubut, Diego Lapenna, pointed out that “we are very aware that airlines always look for the most profitable market, and that is why from the provincial government we made ourselves available to “articulate actions that make Chubut a more attractive place, thus seeking to increase the number of routes and frequencies of airlines that arrive in our province.”

In addition, Lapenna said that together with Scioli “we analyzed various projects aimed at enhancing our airports, especially the Esquel airport,” and highlighted in this sense the importance of being able to articulate strategies with the Nation that allow us to boost tourism competitiveness throughout the country. the region.

During the meeting, held in the offices of the Ministry of Tourism, Environment and Sports of the Nation, the head of the provincial portfolio highlighted the historic cruise season on the coasts of Chubut, and highlighted “the importance of articulated work for the upcoming seasons”, especially in everything that refers to port fees, the increase in ship calls, and the joint negotiations that are being carried out with other important port destinations, such as the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires and Ushuaia.

Likewise, the Ministry of Tourism, Environment and Sports of the Nation highlighted the implementation of various benefits of the Banco de la Nación Argentina, among which stands out an agreement by which the banking entity undertakes to finance with 12 interest-free installments all tourist services for the next winter season 2024, something similar to what was already happening in the province with the Banco del Chubut.

Finally, at the end of the meeting, Diego Lapenna also presented the results of the institutional mission that the province recently held in Brazil, thus obtaining the commitment of the Secretary of Tourism, Environment and Sports of the Nation, Daniel Scioli, to promote the articulation of unions and strategic alliances between Chubut and the various companies of the neighboring country, particularly with regard to the tourism sector.

Furthermore, by way of closing, he also highlighted the enormous opportunity that having been chosen as the headquarters of the Federal Tourism Council represents for Chubut, since it is the most conducive space to “delineate and design tourism policies that are later defined at the national level.” said Lapenna, recalling that this initiative will be carried out on June 13 and 14 in the city of Puerto Madryn.

“In Chubut we have the “Los Alerces” National Park, which is a World Heritage Site, and the Interjurisdictional Coastal Marine Park in Camarones, so we are going to have a talk precisely to outline joint actions, understanding the importance that sustainability has today. and caring for the environment, in all of which our governor has always been a champion,” Lapenna finally specified.
