In a joint operation between the Unified Action Group for Personal Freedom (GAULA) of the Chocó Police Department and the Attorney General’s Office, three individuals accused of extorting merchants and citizens in the municipality of Quibdó were captured.
Those captured, identified as alias ‘Sebas’, alleged neighborhood leader of the criminal organization known as “los Palmeños or Z”, and two of his accomplices, were apprehended in the La Playita and Palenque neighborhoods of Quibdó, as part of the Macro Operation «HERACLES».
According to investigations, these individuals were dedicated to extorting merchants and the general population of Quibdó, demanding sums of money that ranged between 6 and 50 million pesos.

The authorities attribute to alias ‘Sebas’ the responsibility of directing the criminal activities of this criminal group, including extortion and theft.
The capture of these extortionists represents an important blow to the criminal structures that operate in the region, and demonstrates the commitment of the authorities in the fight against crime and strengthening citizen security in Quibdó and its surroundings.
