The Capricorn Journey is a tour from the Yungas of Jujuy and Salta to the swamps and the impenetrable in Formosa and Chacothe Corrientes estuaries and the interior Atlantic forest, within the framework of the Green Impact project financed by the European Union.

Already It started from Susques and will visit the main ecological points of Jujuy, Salta, Misiones, Corrientes, Formosa and Chaco for four months.. Is on foot and by canoeas will happen to cross the Bermejo River and the Embarcación River.

The challenge will run until Augustand seeks to know nature, communities, productions and entrepreneurs those who join to participate, through the organization of the ProYungas Foundation for the 25 years of that institution.

From ProYungas, the organization that carries out logistics, they highlighted as a fundamental objective “to make the Norte Grande known from a different action, from a perspective and from a way of getting involved that is different from what is traditional.”

The route of the Capricorn Journey

After passing through the ravines and yungas of Jujuy, hikers will enter Formosa through the Bermejo River, traveling 1000 kilometers along the border between the province and Chaco, bordering the wetlands and El Impenetrable.

In Corrientes, the journey will continue from Nuestra Señora de Caacatí to Ituzaingó, crossing the Iberá Wetlands. Then, in Misiones, they will enter from its southern border, crossing San Javier to reach El Soberbio and enter the Yabotí Reserve, culminating your tour at the Iguazú Falls.

What is Green Impact?

It is an initiative of the European Unionimplemented by Redes Chaco and co-managed by a consortium of social organizations with extensive experience in the territory, made up of the AVINA Foundation, ProYungas Foundation, Pronorte Foundation, Cultural Association for Integral Development (ACDI) and Pata Pila Franciscan Association.

The project is proposes to promote in the region of Norte Grande Argentina a multi-sector collective agreement between public, civil society and private actors for the transformation of the territory into a leading region in sustainable development, with special emphasis on the productive sector
