“Enormous experiences”

Once the competition was over, the president of Chubut Deportes, Milton Reyes, who accompanied the athletes throughout the two sports days, highlighted that “This event has to do with the integration between Argentina and Chile and this will be sustained over time. In November we have the Araucanía Games in Aysén, but the idea for the future is that conventional and disabled athletes can coexist in the same event.”

He added that “Although the general situation is complex, when we spoke with the governor he told us that Chubut had to be present at this event and in the best possible way, that is, with all needs covered: with transportation, with comfortable accommodations, with good food. , with the corresponding clothing and another series of logistical issues. Without a doubt, without that political decision, it would be impossible to be here today.”

Finally, the official highlighted that “beyond the results, these events allow these kids to travel, leave their homes and have enormous experiences such as being able to contact their peers, integrate and feel important as part of a delegation that represents a province in sports, for this reason “The State must continue to accompany these events, because they do not represent an expense, but an investment.”

In the last hours of Wednesday, in the gymnasium of the Butaló Sports Center, the closing and awards ceremony took place, after which the delegations began their return home.
