When and at what time does the cold front enter Santa Cruz?

Luis Alberto Alpire, better known as the Lord of the Climate, predicted that the entry of a cold front in Santa Cruz will occur at dawn this Thursday, accompanied by rain. However, He clarified that it is a ‘mild storm’, since on Friday the temperatures will rise again.

It will enter in the early hours of this Thursday, with temperatures that They will range between 19 and 20 degrees Celsius, with moderate rains in most of the department.

Attention with the Ichilo province

Likewise, he clarified that “moderate to heavy rains will be recorded, precisely in the Ichilo province where there are victims of the river overflowing. “We must take precautions, because the onslaught of this rain can worsen the situation.”.

Therefore, he stressed that the hydrological alert be maintained in the area, where there are still about 450 families affected by the last overflow of the Ichilo River.

Alpire warns that in the provinces temperatures will also drop, “to 11 degrees in the valleys of Santa Cruz, 12 to 13 degrees in Cordillera and 20 degrees in Chiquitania; the rains are less intense in Cordillera as in Chiquitania, but in the greater part of the department are moderate, with the exception of the valleys of Santa Cruz and the integrated north.

The ‘surge’ will be slight

However, the professional stressed that this situation will change in a matter of hours, since for Friday and Saturday it is expected that winds from the north and rising temperatures will be recorded.

“On Friday there will be temperatures of 30 degrees, the same as on Saturday. But on Sunday, it will be a particular day, the winds will change as well as the temperature,” Alpire said, while stating that there is a chance of showers for the weekend.

Next week will be a sample of what is expected for this winter

Starting Monday, May 13, “a considerable south is coming, the temperatures they will drop between 13 to 14 degrees only in the capital of Santa Cruz; while in the rest of the department they will drop even more. For example, “In the valleys of Santa Cruz we expect between 4 to 5 degrees, 6 to 7 degrees in the Cordillera and in Chiquitania we are even going to have 13 to 14 degrees.”

In the words of Alpire, “we are going to feel it in the south, because there will also be moderate rains, but they will be recorded. That is, next week a cold front that is very characteristic of winter is coming. “We are 40 days away from winter and this is a sign of how it will be lived.”

The climate lord remarked that “now we do not have the El Niño phenomenon and that is why this winter will be harsher than last year. Unlike 2023, which felt even warm, “This management will be normal and this will be a sign that the winter will be harsher.”
