Havana, May 8 (RHC) The first secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and president of the Republic, Miguel Díaz-Canel, stated this Wednesday in Moscow that the Caribbean country is interested in beneficial cooperation with the nations of the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU).
In his speech before the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council, the dignitary stated that without a doubt, the path of knowledge lies in the development of the Union, and it is one of the reasons why Cuba wants to develop relations with the EEU.
Díaz-Canel reiterated that his country makes its achievements in the field of medicine, biotechnology and pharmaceuticals available to members of the organization.
Likewise, he thanked the invitation made for Cuban companies to participate in the technological development of the EEU, and the fact of agreeing to establish direct links in trade and direct economic investment.
“We are a small country subject to a blockade that tries to make the daily life of the people more difficult,” he said, adding that the unfair inclusion on the list of countries sponsoring terrorism affects the development of Cuba’s relations.
Later he meant that he conveyed to everyone the gratitude of the Cuban people for the vote that the member countries make every year against the criminal US siege.
Finally, Díaz-Canel reiterated his conviction that the members of the UEE will continue to strengthen sustainable development for the benefit of their people, and stated that they can always count on Cuba in this endeavor. (Source: Prensa Latina)
