Several sectors of the city were visited by the tank trucks of the company Servitanques de la Costa with the purpose of becoming involved as an agent of transformation of the city.
In an effort from the private sector as part of the corporate social responsibility of the company Servitanques de la Costa and in order to be agents of renewal in the city of Santa Marta, more than 30 thousand liters of water suitable for human consumption.
The first places that received support with the liquid were the Altos de Bahía Concha neighborhoods and the Donisa cove in the northeastern sector of the city, where at least 160 families required water to meet their needs such as bathing and washing clothes. In this place and with joint work with the community action presidency, it was possible to supply several pools of neighbors who regularly lend them to help the rest of the community.
Liliana María Piña, president of the community action board of the Donisa settlement, expressed gratitude to the company Servitanques de la Costa for this donation of water:
“In this moment of crisis that we are in the city of Santa Marta, not only this sector but a large part of the city, we thank this company for the water supply, since for some time the precious water had not been able to arrive. liquid to this upper part.”
According to what the community leader said, with this water tanker it was possible to provide each of these families with enough water for at least 10 days. The purpose of Servitanques de la Costa has been to support state entities that, despite their efforts, are not enough to cover all the needs of the city and that is why as a company they wanted to contribute to the solution.
According to Miguel Cañón, head of operations at Servitanques de la Costa, the desire of this company is to at least provide the precious liquid to a weekly community that is in need in the city.
On the other hand, a community of at least 40 families in the upper part of the María Eugenia neighborhood received supplies for their homes. Several of these houses had elderly people with health problems and required water to bathe them and wash clothes. Sixta Cantillo, a resident of the sector who has her mother and her brother in bed due to health problems, expressed her most sincere gratitude to Servitanques de la Costa for supplying her home with water so necessary to clean her children. her relatives. Likewise, Digna Maribel Cañón stated that thanks to Servitanques de la Costa the sector where she lives was able to have the precious liquid in her homes again after several weeks of drought.
With this type of campaigns, the company Servitanques de la Costa seeks to give back to the city part of what it has given it in all the years of existence and operation by bringing solutions in the cleaning and purification of tanks, grease traps and drinking water supply. .
