Atlético Bucaramanga and Junior de Barranquilla faced each other for the second date of Quadrangular A of the BetPlay Dimayor League. A very special commitment for the local team, since they were celebrating their 75th birthday and were facing visitors who were looking to continue in the best way in this semi-final phase.

Prior to this match, the leopard team lost 1-0 against Deportivo Pereira as a visitor. While those led by Arturo Reyes beat Millonarios 2-1 at home on the first date.

The match began with a Bumangués team being superior and showing the conditions to go out and seek the result, against a Junior who clung with the same strategy of looking for the wings and doing damage in those sectors.

However, the first big action of the match was carried out by Junior de Barranquilla at 21 minutes of the initial period, when José Enamorado had the ball in the middle of the field and finished from a long distance to surprise the leopard goalkeeper, Aldair Quintana, who It was poorly located. However, the home team’s goalkeeper reacted quickly and was able to prevent the first goal of the game.

But things would be linked again to the refereeing controversies that occur in the FPC, since minutes later, the match judge did not see it necessary to review the VAR a dangerous action by Carlos Henao on the Junior midfielder, Roberto Hinojosa, after hitting him with a slap in the face.

On the part of the Bucaramanga team, the leopard tried several times to break Junior’s goal through the still ball, after on several occasions both Carlos Henao and Fabián Sambueza tried to finish from mid-distance, however, the visiting team’s goalkeeper, Santiago Mele was firm in his actions and avoided any dangerous action.

Things would get complicated for those led by Rafael Dudamel, after at 88 minutes Atlético Bucaramanga would be left with one less man after the expulsion of attacker Misael Martínez for a double warning, thus being the second red card that the Santander team would suffer in these home runs.

In this way, Bucaramanga and Junior tied without goals for the second round of Quadrangular A. A result that leaves the locals with only one unit, while the visitors are left with four points and with a view to the Copa Libertadores.

The next date for Atlético Bucaramanga will be next Sunday, May 19 against Millonarios in El Campín. While for Junior that same day against Deportivo Pereira at the Metropolitano de Barranquilla.
