The Mayor’s Office of Manizales presented the Mental Health Program “We Are With You.” This program, which was presented to the public on May 14, will deploy 17 interdisciplinary operational teams made up of 113 professionals.
The mayor of Manizales, Jorge Eduardo Rojas Giraldo, explained that the program will reach schools, neighborhoods, neighborhoods, universities and companies with the aim of improving the mental health of the citizens of Manizales. «“We will reach the schools, the neighborhoods and sidewalks where we will go to listen to and attack the complex trends in the lives of the people of Manizale, to the universities and companies, so that hopefully in a short time we will be the city with the best mental health in the country.” .
The program will have a variety of resources, including seven basic teams located in seven territories of the communes, four teams in the Mental Health Listening Centers, five mobile teams to cover other areas of the city, one team for rural coverage, a team of psychologists to support the 24/7 mental health line, and a psychiatrist to support the teams.
In addition, strategies will be developed for community listening centers, school guidance areas, community-based rehabilitation, formation of community networks, mental health care line and grief management as a re-signification of life.
Citizens will be able to benefit at an individual and collective level with services such as welcome and active listening, early identification of mental health needs, home visits, application of screening tests, psychological assessment, brief psychotherapy, referrals to the service network, follow-ups, accompaniment to the family, psychological first aid and crisis intervention.
The program will also include a psychosocial team for immediate response to urgent cases, from the Risk Management Unit, and an interdisciplinary team from the Public Health Unit of the Ministry of Health, which will carry out the technical coordination and supervision of the operational work, which It is in charge of Assbasalud ESE.
