Chilvicito, Tumaco, celebrates a new era of connectivity with high-speed internet

Closing the connectivity gaps in the territories of Nariño to connect them with the world is one more step on the path towards transformation and peace.

The Minister of Information and Communications Technologies, Mauricio Lizcano Arango, inaugurated in Chilvicito (Tumaco) the first Internet Board – Community of Connectivity of the Department of Nariño, which will provide high-speed internet service in more than 50 homes of this path.

In return, Governor Luis Alfonso Escobar announced that priority will be given to the implementation of a solidarity agreement with the Community Action Board for paving the access road and, in this way, improving the land connectivity of the inhabitants of this sector. from Tumaco.

In addition, the “Nariño Region, Country for the World” Development Plan includes a last-mile internet product indicator in the strategic connectivity program. In alliance with MinTIC, the aim is to reach communities in 24 municipalities prioritized for their low internet penetration rates, through different connectivity technologies such as fiber, radio link or satellite, according to the conditions permitted by the territories.
