In the Plaza General Francisco Ramírez, in Concepción del Uruguay, the III Regional Meeting of Museums took place this Saturday, bringing together some 30 institutions from the region, including the Artemio Alisio Provincial Museum of Drawing and Engraving, from that city, and the Molino Forclaz Provincial Historical Monument and Museum, in the Colón department, both dependent on the Ministry of Culture. It was a space to reflect on the axes of identity and heritage.

The General Director of Museums and Cultural Heritage of the province, Carlos Iriarte, thanked the invitation to the meeting held in La Historica, which was organized by the municipality and the Autonomous University of Entre Ríos (Uader), and brought the greetings of the Secretary of Culture , Fabián Reato. He then highlighted that the organization in his charge is responsible for nine museums located in different Entre Ríos cities, which they tour and advise.

Later, he mentioned that within the framework of Governor Rogelio Frigerio’s request for “territoriality of culture”, they approach various cultural spaces installed in small towns to advise and accompany them, and that they receive gratitude from their authorities and staff. “We found a human resource that has maintained these spaces with almost no money, but with a lot of will and a lot of passion for this task, which is super important,” he said.

Then he realized that they are working on a digitization plan for Entre Ríos museums to be able to show the diversity of cultural manifestations that the province has.

In turn, the General Director of Cultural Management, Juan Carlos Meillard, commented that this plan will be implemented in stages. “We will be digitizing certain provincial museums and some historical-cultural heritage buildings and their collections, their artifacts,” he commented and noted that it will include information about each of the pieces that make up their heritage.

«It is a program that will be born to continue growing, to be able to add municipal museums, regional museums and more and more cultural tourist attractions that can serve us not only to give more accessibility to our people so that they can learn about our heritage, but also so that it is a great showcase to show the world the riches we have in Entre Ríos,” he concluded.
