From Spain, Milei confirmed that there will be no May Pact in Córdoba

He president Javier Milei He participated on Sunday morning in the Europa Viva 24 summit, organized by Vox in Spain. There, Ella Milei launched fierce criticism of “socialism”, which earned her applause from the right-wing audience present, and she directed another barb at the head of the Spanish government, Pedro Sánchez.

During his speech at the event, Milei confirmed that there will be no May Pact in Córdoba. “Which Pact are we going to go to if we have not yet approved the Base Law? Now, sooner or later the Law will come out; The 3,000 structural reforms that we still have in the pipeline are also going to come out,” he indicated.

The president began his speech, as usual, with a few lines from the song “Panic Show” by La Renga, unleashing the first of several applauses. He especially thanked Santiago Abascal, a reference for Vox and the extreme right in Spain, saying: “Santiago, look how far we have come and how much we have ahead of us.”

During his speech, Milei expressed: “It is comforting to be in front of an audience that shares our ideas. I am convinced that these ideas and values that brought the human species to the top must be defended from carcinogenic socialism. The damned socialists murdered 150 million human beings.”

Speaking about the Argentine experience, Milei recalled that in the first decades of independence, the country was “the mecca of the West.” But she later emphasized: “At some point in the first half of the 20th century, the political leadership fell in love with the State and embraced the doctrine of social justice. “There began the century of Argentine humiliation.”

The president also stated that Argentines are “prophets of an apocalyptic future” and noted: “Today I look at Europe and the United States and see signs of the tragic path that Argentina sadly took. Enough of socialism, enough of hunger, enough of misery.”

In addition, she hugged José Abascal, as can be seen in the photos of Cezaro Luca. In his speech, he added: “We must destroy this parasitic idea that says that the State’s task is to control every aspect of citizens’ lives. The task of the State is to defend the life, liberty and private property of individuals.”

Beyond his usual libertarian script, Milei spoke of current situations, criticizing Pedro Sánchez without naming him directly. He commented: “Even if his wife is corrupt, he gets dirty and takes five days to think about it,” referring to the weekend that the Spanish head of government took to decide whether to continue leading the administration after complaints against his wife. Begoña Gómez.

These complaints accuse the wife of the Spanish president of having received alleged favors and of allegedly recommending companies that later obtained funds or contracts with the State, coming from an organization called Clean Hands.

The Minister of Transportation, Oscar Puente, suggested that Milei consumed “substances,” which led the Office of the President of the Argentine Republic to publish on its networks a repudiation of “the slander and insults” of the Spanish minister. The office also recommended that Spain’s head of government deal with more urgent issues, such as the investigation into alleged influence peddling involving his wife.

Milei was one of the guests at “Europa Viva 24”, an event organized by the leader of the far-right party Vox at the Vistalegre palace in Madrid, prior to the elections that will take place in Spain on June 9 to define the European parliamentarians.

Sánchez also mentioned the “far-right international,” criticizing Milei for her concepts and stating that they meet in Spain because they represent everything they hate: feminism, social justice, labor dignity, a strong welfare state and democracy.

In his speech, Milei also mentioned the tension with the AFA due to the potential landing of Sports Joint Stock Companies (SAD) in Argentine clubs. She claimed that socialism had taken control of areas ranging from politics to entertainment and the media, saying: “In my country, they even have control over football.”

After taking office in 2023, Milei confirmed that he would implement the possibility for clubs to become SAD through a decree of Necessity and Urgency, which is judicialized and awaiting approval in Congress. The Government ratified its decision to advance with the SAD in football based on the case of José Hernández, which led to the disaffiliation of the La Plata club from the Coastal League. They sent a document to Gianni Infantino, head of FIFA, to inform him of the situation, and they hope that with the approval of the Base Law, more institutions will seek private capital under a mixed system, as in Spain or Germany.

Milei concluded his speech by calling to defend the values that made the West great, stating that he had managed to lower inflation in Argentina with “the largest and most abrupt adjustment in human history,” and promised success in his government to demonstrate that the ideas of freedom can be carried out correctly. She ended with her classic harangue of “Long live freedom, damn it!”
