The competition will take place between June 2 and 8 in Guatemala. Know who Julieta Díaz is.

The 13-year-old Coyhaican Julieta Díaz Elorz will represent the region and the country as part of the Chilean team in the Pan American Youth and Adult Rhythmic Gymnastics Championship that will be held in Guatemala between June 2 and 8.

The national team in this competition will seek qualification for the Pan American Youth Games in Asunción in 2025.

In 2023, the gymnast reached level A or elite, the highest in this discipline, and went from the children’s category to AC4 for reaching the age of 13. She is the only gymnast of this level in the Aysén Region, which qualifies her to participate in international competitions.

In recent months Julieta Díaz has trained intensely preparing four schemes, with four different implements of rhythmic gymnastics, hoop, ball, ribbon and clubs. This with the aim of qualifying for the Pan American championship, where she will finally present a ball scheme.

Searching for resources

Currently, she and her family are in a fundraising campaign to pay for her participation in Guatemala. On May 21, a lunch will be held at a restaurant in the El Claro sector, in which a part of the profits will go to finance the athlete. To participate you must reserve by calling +569 94864989.

Julieta Díaz began her sports career in 2017. She is part of the Club Orígenes de Coyhaique and her coach is Natalia Sáez. She trains from Monday to Sunday between six and eight hours a day and moves to Valdivia one week a month to train in a duo with another elite level gymnast.

Unfortunately Julieta will have to go to the championship alone, because due to resource and personal issues she will not be able to go with her coach Natalia Sáez.
