20 business prototypes for the agricultural, agribusiness and tourism sectors of Casanare contributed to the Unisabana project » FREE PRESS CASANARE

Innovative business prototypes were exhibited at the Casanare Chamber of Commerce in Yopal at the closing event this May 22 of the first phase of the project “Development of Innovation Capacities in Companies in the Strategic Focuses of the Agricultural, Agroindustry and Tourism Sectors of the Department of Casanare”, executed by the University of La Sabana, financed by the National Royalties Fund and supervised by the Ministry of Science and Technology.

The project, which had an investment of more than one thousand four hundred million pesos, 120 hours of training, not only accounts for the transfer of knowledge to entrepreneurs in the process, the forms, the types of innovation that can be generated, It also makes it possible to show how the development of skills in entrepreneurs and the strengthening of capabilities in companies give way to the creation of business innovation systems that favor collaborative work, improving their competitive capacity and that of the region.

The project was supported by the Collegiate Body of Administration and Decision (OCAD) of the Science, Technology and Innovation Fund (FCTeI) of the General Royalties System (SGR), in line with the National Development Plan 2018-2022 and the policies government modernization and innovation.

Under the administration of the Unisabana HUB and the leadership of a committee of experts from the University of La Sabana, the project trained participating companies in the development of business innovation systems that stand out for their tangible impact.

Among the innovative business prototypes are a drag-type fumigation and fertigation system that works with folding arms, a virtual reality simulator of coleus tasks as a typical and indigenous sport of the llanera culture, a machine designed to automate the process of cheese spinning and an alternative energy generation system for the production of oxygen required in the fattening process of red tilapia.

“This project marks a significant step towards the economic transformation of Casanare. With the support and training of local entrepreneurs, the University of La Sabana reaffirms its commitment to innovation and the transfer of knowledge, and announces the beginning of new alliances that will contribute to the economic and social progress of the region,” said Catherine Pereira, dean of the School of Economic and Administrative Sciences of the University of La Sabana.

For his part, the Executive President of the Casanare Chamber of Commerce, Carlos Rojas Arenas, at the end of the first stage of the project also called “Innova Casanare”, explained that the main objective was the development of innovative capabilities in companies within the sectors strategic areas of the region, such as agriculture, agro-industrial and tourism, where more than 20 participating companies managed to create innovative business prototypes during this phase.

The project was supervised by MinCiencias and executed by the University of La Sabana, with the participation of the National Planning Department (DNP), and contemplates the strengthening of regional and national innovation systems, as well as the strengthening of the relationship between academia and the business sector.
