The fact was confirmed by the FAA, which in a statement highlighted that “this unfortunate event mourns and saddens the leadership and all the federated members.”

The entity sent its condolences to the family of the agricultural leader “in these devastating moments.”

“We will always remember him fighting for the small and medium producers and the regional economies that he has represented so much and so well,” they concluded.

How was the accident

According to local media, the accident occurred this Friday morning when Achetoni was traveling in his car, a Fiat Palio, on national route 188.

For reasons that are being investigated, at kilometer 304 of that route — between the towns of Florentino Ameghino and Granada — the car in which the head of the FAA was traveling collided with the back of a truck transporting peanuts.
