Fabián Silva, a former resident of the Don Bosco neighborhood of Trelew, revealed that since 2003 an ambitious comprehensive sports project has been managed for the lands that the deliberative council could currently cede to the MTE, in the vicinity of the Cemetery and the failed municipal spa.

The neighbor joined the neighborhood community and reviewed in dialogue with the journalist Rodrigo Mansilla in INVINCIBLES on FM EL CHUBUT that in 2003 they presented a comprehensive project to develop in that entire area and that even in 2013 an agreement was also signed to advance works in this regard .

“In 2003 we presented the project and in 2013 an agreement for a work in that area was signed,” the resident reviewed, specifying the initial presentation “was supported by 15 residents, councilors and political leaders.”

“At that time Mario Das Neves was a candidate for governor and Daniel Scioli was there, who was part of the Nation. We presented the project at the national level and he had political approval for the financing of the work,” he explained, although he regretted that it could not be done. carried out due to “a great lack of management by the leaders who were there at that time and in the following years.”

Scioli, Silva and Das Neves, analyzing the project.

The intention “was to link an entire project of neighborhood improvement (the ProMeBa) and link it with a sports project, which added to what the Chiquichano lagoon was.”

He explained that the projected area included the property that could be transferred to the MTE, the northern sports center property, the failed spa and the Meeting Center. “The project contained the entire area, because it was all solid soil and it was an open field,” he recalled.

“We had projected in that entire area that it was an open field where people passing by were assaulted. The neighborhoodism presented a comprehensive sports project, of total and social containment, to make a soccer field, to make walking areas, to make a municipal track 2 and a swimming pool”, he detailed.

Although he acknowledged the project “was reduced” and progress was made in some works such as the northern sports center that was abandoned, “the reality is that progress was never made with the original project.”

Finally, regarding the possibility of the property being transferred to the MTE to build a warehouse for fairground vendors, he considered that “it would be a shame if such a large sports space were not used by the residents, by the people of the neighborhoods.”

He pointed out that “we are dedicated to making projects and someone who is dedicated to making projects generally tries to ensure that the city has sports spaces, containment spaces, social spaces. I believe that this space should have been analyzed so that it follows the same line, because “The neighbors have no place to go for a walk, they don’t have spaces like that.”

If the property is transferred to the MTE, “they take space away from the city,” he assessed.

“That project was a dream of all the neighborhoods, which unfortunately could not be carried out, but the neighborhoods should unite and revive it and put a little more energy into it, because it cannot be that the kids do not have a sports space,” he concluded.

Project presented in 2013

The project had been revived and promoted in 2013 before the provincial authorities to be executed on the property and included swimming pools, an infirmary, a beach volleyball court, changing rooms, bathrooms and a Multipurpose Room (SUM) and a 1.5-meter-wide aquatic plaza. depth, in addition to a pre-Olympic pool; as he detailed.

For this project, even in 2016, meetings were held with the then provincial and municipal authorities, in order to promote it.
