The neighbors affected by the fires last February will receive excellent news. And, framed in the urban reconstruction master plan, three important arteries will be paved in sectors affected by the fires last February, in the communes of Viña del Mar and Quilpué, with an investment that reaches 500 million pesos from the Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning (Minvu) of the Valparaíso Region.

Through the Participatory Pavements program, the beginning of the reconstruction of the urban area after the fires that occurred in February takes place in Viña del Mar with the repair of Las Petunias and Cuncumén streets, located in Achupallas. These works include paving the road, construction of sidewalks, containment works, signage and demarcation, and amount to an investment of $416 million.

Another of the sectors to intervene is the Incahuasi Passage of the Pompeya population in Quilpué, where $82 million will be allocated for road paving, sidewalks and road safety works. According to the deadlines, the regional director of Serviu, Rodrigo Uribe Barahonain Viña del Mar they will be executed in 154 consecutive days, while in Quilpué in 84 consecutive days.

“The focus of urban recovery is on neighborhood impact works that allow greater road connection, public spaces that are safe points and that mitigate emergencies. A clear example of this is the paving of the first streets of Viña del Mar and Quilpué. We are talking about 432 linear meters of pavements that will benefit more than 50 families directly and entire communities. These are streets that today are dirt, impassable in the winter and that make traffic difficult in the event of an emergency situation. Therefore, we are very happy to begin these works in June that will improve the quality of life of families and equip the neighborhoods.”, specified the director of Serviu.

Regarding the Urban Reconstruction Master Plan, the seremi (s) of the Seremi of Housing and Urbanism, Nerina Paz, expressed that “There is a broad portfolio of projects that have been worked on as a region together with the central level and professionals from the private and academic sectors that allow the affected sectors to be considerably improved. The works range from pavements, public spaces, urbanization and dry network, to evacuation routes, retaining walls, reforestation of green areas, among others. The investment exceeds $500 billion, has short, medium and long-term terms and advances in parallel with housing reconstruction.”
