They finally seek to ‘hunt’ the white elephant of San Jorge

A request for reformulation of the San Jorge Regional Aqueduct project was received by the Vice Ministry of Drinking Water and Basic Sanitation from Aguas de Córdoba in order to move forward with this project that will impact more than 97 thousand families.

Once the adjustments are approved, the technical and financial viability necessary to complete the execution and deliver a functional system to the benefited communities will be guaranteed.

“Since I became manager of Aguas de Córdoba, one of my main commitments and goals has been to promote this project. Unfortunately, it has been running for over 9 years without reaching a satisfactory conclusion. But with this reformulation, we hope to move forward and finish this great work that will impact the inhabitants of this area of Córdoba,” said Maruen Jabib Janna, manager of the entity.

For his part, the governor of Córdoba, Erasmo Zuleta Bechara, highlighted this new advance in the process to resume the project and bring it to a successful conclusion. “We have been at the forefront of the reformulation of the San Jorge regional aqueduct with the entire Aguas de Córdoba team, because bringing drinking water to the families of San Jorge is a priority that cannot continue to be delayed. We took a step and we will take what is necessary so that the inhabitants open the faucet in their homes and have water,” said the governor.

He added that he recently contacted the Minister of Housing and told her: “here in the department of Córdoba we are still waiting for the San Jorge project to be approved, which will bring drinking water to the municipalities of Pueblo Nuevo, Planeta Rica, Buenavista and The Apartada; “We are ready to co-finance this investment.”
