The scores of the Argentine National Team players after the match against Chile for the second date of Group A of the Copa America 2024.

Argentina vs. Chile: the scores

Emiliano Martínez (7): goalkeeper of the big team. He was kicked twice and both times he responded in a great way to keep the goal at zero and, fundamentally, renew the confidence that the defense places in him.

Nahuel Molina (6): He was the key to the attack on the right side and even had one of the clearest plays with a powerful shot to Bravo’s body. Imprecise in some centers and firm in defense: he suffered almost no surprises.

Cristian Romero (8): firm, fast and intelligent to go out and cut far and always anticipate. He won almost all the duels and never let Alexis Sánchez receive head-on. Another great game from Cuti, on the team’s performance podium.

Lisandro Martínez (7): solid, he complemented his defensive partner to take Vargas and not let him grow offensively. As always, he showed all his technique when playing from the bottom.

Nicolás Tagliafico (5): little participation in attack. Chile chose its side to attack, especially after the departure of Nico González, and at times found itself overwhelmed.

Rodrigo De Paul (6): complementary and intelligent, important for moments in which friction took precedence over play.

Enzo Fernández (5): quick to look for spaces and be able to receive, but not very powerful with the ball at his feet.

Alexis Mac Allister (6): Due to his position he was not very decisive with the ball at his feet, but he had a very good game defensively, being almost always well positioned. He cut off several Chilean advances.

Nicolás González (8): the best player on the court, at least offensively, until his departure. With constant back and forth on the left wing, he was the deepest and most incisive of the Argentine attack and had a very clear chance.

Lionel Messi (6): He started off very active but was weakened by a muscle problem and by the fierce Chilean marking, which systematically sought to foul him. In the second half he had more sporadic but decisive interventions.

Julian Alvarez (6): a lot of commitment in the pressure and recovery but uncomfortable to receive, almost always from the back. He resolved well with one or two touches, although he did not manage to generate danger. He had only one clear scoring chance and scored poorly.

THEY ENTERED

Giovanni Lo Celso (6): He gave what the team was missing, move forward. However, it was more intention and a spark than anything else.

Lautaro Martínez (8): He made the most of the few minutes he had and, in one of his few interventions, scored the last-minute winning goal. Towards the end he missed a clear counterattack, although Di María’s pass was not the best.

Ángel Di María (6): His entry was more about the excitement that was generated in the stands than what he could stand out on the field from his dribble. At the end he was generous but gave it badly to Lautaro, who failed.

Marcos Acuña (): came in at the end.

Gonzalo Montiel (): came in at the end.
