The current route of the first line, which is more than 33% complete, ends its route at the old monument to Los Héroes, where the shunting queue of the trains is located, which have their last stop on 72nd Street with Caracas Avenue.

However, with the new extension, The first line will have three more stations (Calle 82, Calle 92 and Calle 100) for a total of 19. This option also seeks to benefit 138,000 daily users in the towns of Suba and Usaquén.

“It is an opportunity to close a multimodal transport ring. It would allow connection with the TransMilenio trunk on 68th Avenue, with Carrera Séptima, with the cable that we are going to make towards La Calera, which would be articulated at the 92nd Street station, where, in addition, the Regiotram del Norte would arrive. ”, explained Quintero for EL TIEMPO.

How much does it cost to extend the first line to 100th Street?

Through a right of petition, the Bogotpa Metro Company indicated to Councilor Quintero that the work, the audit, the trains, the systems for their operation and the purchase of land of This extension has a cost of 3.3 billion pesos, at 2021 prices, but the lobbyist analyzed two additional scenarios.

Without taking into account the audit and the purchase of land, the project costs 3 billion pesos. And, if the trains and systems for their operation are excluded – that is, only the purchase of land, the work and the auditing are left – the extension costs 2.4 billion.

The construction period for the project would be five years.

Quintero stated that to open the bidding the District needs to obtain at least 15% of the total value of the extension. Which means that in the third option, which is the most economical, it would be 364,799 million pesos. In the first, the value would be 502,347 million pesos, and in the second, it would be 460,012.

“These scenarios are the result of a detailed analysis that we carried out together with my work team based on the response from the District on the real costs of this project. The term for the construction of the project would be five years,” Quintero said, adding that the remaining money “will be distributed through future periods.”
