Prensa Latina).- The vice president of the National Assembly of People’s Power and the Council of State, Ana María Mari Machado, spoke with the vice president of the Russian Federation Council, Inna Yuryena Svyatenko.

As reported by the Assembly on the X social network, Mari Machado received Svyatenko at the National Capitol, where she declared that her visit demonstrates the excellent state of parliamentary relations between Cuba and Russia.

It is evidence of the strengthening of our historical and fraternal ties, and that we honor with the permanent dialogue, not only of our authorities at the Government level, but also with citizens, he added, according to the report of the meeting.

At the same time, he commented that the political dialogue between both states is relevant and is “aimed at promoting bilateral relations in all fields of mutual interest and benefit.”

He also highlighted the impact of the working groups created in both parliaments and the holding of meetings this year with favorable results for Cuba.

On the other hand, he recognized and praised the “constant support against the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the United States Government against our country, expressed in various international settings and important political forums.”

Cuba appreciates Russia’s vote in favor of our Resolution against the blockade in the United Nations and its public complaints, highlighting those approved by both chambers of the Federal Assembly and the statements of senior Russian leaders, he said.

Svyatenko, meanwhile, “was excitedly grateful for the possibility of exchanging about bilateral issues of common interest,” the official text states.

“The ties between Moscow and Havana are very strong and time-tested, characterized by a high level of political dialogue between Russia and Cuba, reflected in many bilateral meetings in different areas and spheres,” he stressed.
