Councilor Carlos Arnedo spoke about the decrease in passengers using public transportation and targeted businessmen.

The capital councilor Carlos Arnedo spoke about the quantitative decrease in passengers faced by the transportation sector. “People got tired of the terrible service and the low frequency of the buses. More and more people from Tucuman choose alternative means of transportation and that is a consequence of the greed and laziness of businessmen,” he analyzed.

According to the mayor, “today the user chooses what to use, and that put public passenger transportation in check.” And he added that “the responsibility for this phenomenon does not lie with the user, but with the owners of the lines who never invested in the service or in improving the conditions of the units.”

Arnedo reiterated his ordinance projects to concession bus lines through public bidding and audit transportation companies. “Businessmen have to give explanations about what they did with the million-dollar subsidies they received from the State, and why that money is not reflected in the service,” he said.

“Likewise, we must advance in the concession of the lines through public bidding to solvent businessmen and end the precarious tenure of the service,” he concluded.
