The Civil Guard, within the framework of services against theft in agricultural and livestock farms in Córdoba, has arrested eight people and investigated 89 in the southern part of the province, during the operations carried out in the 2023 olive harvesting campaign. -2024, recently completed.

As explained by the Civil Guard On a note, these operations have been carried out after learning, at the beginning of the olive collection campaign, that one of the Roca teams that operates in the southern part of the province had detected several thefts of olives on farms located mainly in the municipalities of Lucena, Aguilar de la Frontera, Puente Genil, Cabra, Rute, Benamejí and Priego de Córdoba.

During the development of the campaign and specifically to carry out these operations, the Civil Guard has had the collaboration of the Rural Nursery of the affected areas, establishing direct contact with the Field Guardswhich has allowed several operations to be carried out that have resulted in the recovery of a large quantity of stolen olives.

20 tons of olives

As a result of these operations, the Civil Guard has managed to recover more than 20 tons of olives, as well as the material used for their theft, such as bales, rods, brushes, rollers and slings. Specifically, eight people have been arrested, another 89 have been investigated, 14 vehicles have been seized and 25 complaint reports have been filed for administrative violations for lacking the Transport Accompaniment Document (DAT).
