Chaco: after resisting abuse, a hitchhiking librarian was murdered

She was brutally murdered on a rural road after resisting sexual abuse, in what becomes the sixth femicide of the year in that province.

Erica Torres, a 45-year-old librarian, was found with five stab wounds in the chest and neck on a rural road between Charata and Las Breñas. The woman was hitchhiking when she was approached by a man who offered her a ride.
