The events for National Day began: all on May 25 live and direct

The Government of Santa Cruz and the Municipality of Río Gallegos jointly organized the event on May 25 for the 214th anniversary of the May revolution.

The day began this Saturday minutes after 9 a.m. with two religious messages from the bishop of Río Gallegos, Monsignor Ignacio Medina, and the evangelical pastor Bolivar Santosof the Missionary Movement in a building of the Argentine Navy.

Then he continued with the raising of the flag on the Plaza de la República on the Río Gallegos waterfrontwhere the organization was already distributing hot chocolate and cakes.

The day began cool and pleasant despite the 2.9° C degrees below zero, tempered by the sunny sky and the low wind of barely 1 kilometer per hour, according to the National Meteorological Service.

The vice-governor of the province of Santa Cruz, Fabián Leguizamón, highlighted the importance of the national day and pointed out that “society demands from the political class that all of us who have a degree of responsibility in making decisions are all together,” pointing out the “nuance that the governor gives it with his approach to the people”. Regarding the social context, he said: “We knew that it was not going to be easy and we understand that in this future we knew that we were going to have many inconveniences and we know that what awaits us is much better.”

Regarding the project sent by the governor Claudio Vidal to create a state company dedicated to agricultural production, fishing and real estate services, he considered that “we must seek among all the deputies that everyone feels part of this project because it is a state company and it belongs to everyone, and it will link us with the productive sector.”

The Minister of Labor, Julio Gutierrez, pointed out that “we are in a pivotal moment in Argentina and what we are doing in the province of Santa Cruz is a great challenge. We are united by the need to seek a sense of belonging. Living these acts in this way will make us find it. We have to be protagonists of the transformation of the province and rise to the occasion of what Argentina needs. We have to regain the trust of the people, we will be the change in the country’s energy matrix and we have to live up to it.”

The Minister of Production, Gustavo Martinez, considered that “these acts make us think about everything that was built behind us, the challenges, dreams and projections that we must have towards the future.” On the other hand, he assured that from the portfolio he leads they are “trying to promote activities, talk with companies to generate genuine work and that it is with good quality salaries, that the largest proportion is for Santa Cruz residents and that they bet on their own professionals.”

Claudio Vidal did not participate in the Tedeum

After the raising, the governor Claudio Vidal along with the chief of the Río Gallegos Army, Gustavo Sivorithey got on a military jeep and performed a “parade” from the official box to the YPF tanks, all along the waterfront and returned to start the parade.

Tedeum in Buenos Aires with Jorge García Cuerva and Javier Milei

The archbishop demanded to “take the paralysis of the people seriously” and not postpone them “in the name of a promising future.”

President Javier Milei participated in the traditional tedeum which was held in the metropolitan cathedral of Buenos Aires, to commemorate a new anniversary of the May Revolution.

The tedeum was presided over by the archbishop of Buenos Aires, Monsignor Jorge García Cuervaand concelebrated by the auxiliary bishops.

The Buenos Aires archbishop asked that his Tedeum homily on May 25 not be used to “feed fragmentation,” but rather as “a contribution to the reflection of all actors in society.”

Before President Javier Milei, the Buenos Aires archbishop, Jorge García Cuerva, demanded at the Tedeum on May 25 to “take the paralysis of the people seriously” and not postpone them “in the name of a promising future.”

“The message that I will share wants to be a contribution in the light of the word of God for the reflection of all the actors of Argentine society, convinced that together we build the Homeland, beyond knowing that, later, some isolated phrases to want to feed fragmentation,” said the cardinal primate of Argentina at the beginning of the ecclesiastical ceremony in the Metropolitan Cathedral.

And he continued: “Today we stand before God as a nation and ask Him to heal us, because we seem to have paralyzed hands for the encounter that builds brotherhood, paralyzed hands to embrace those wounded by loneliness and sadness, paralyzed hands. to be in solidarity with those who have less”

“And we also ask God to preserve us from the hands stained with blood from drug trafficking, from the dirty hands of corruption and bribery, from the hands in the pockets of selfishness and indifference,” said García Cuerva.

In his homily, the archbishop expressed: “We have to take seriously the paralysis of our people. We know that there is paralysis that cannot be procrastinated: its postponement in the name of a promising future would generate disastrous and irreversible consequences in the lives of people and therefore of the entire society, a very high price to pay that we cannot afford: malnutrition in early childhood, lack of schooling and accessibility to health services, the elderly and retirees incapable of supporting themselves daily with a minimum of dignity, are some of those examples that cannot be postponed.”

From the Metropolitan Cathedral, the local cardinal’s representative pointed out that the gaze of Jesus “alerts about insensitivity towards the most unprotected, demands greater commitment.”
and closeness to those who suffer.”

Furthermore, under the watchful eye of President Javier Milei, he appealed to the “conscience” of each one: “In these difficult times, what am I doing for the poorest and those who suffer? Can we look at ourselves and answer that question, without blaming ourselves like teenagers, but rather from the responsibility of taking responsibility, even if it is necessary by making a mature self-criticism that our people need to hear so much sometime?

“Our people are making a great effort and we cannot play dumb. We must accompany this enormous effort of our people with actions and not just words. That is why some actions of the leadership that are divorced from ordinary citizens continue to hurt, such as the much-discussed self-increases in salaries a few weeks ago,” she launched.

In front of the head of state and members of the Cabinet, García Cueva asked to “eliminate the double standard” when judging politics and remarked: “Uniting is not the same as colluding; Fraternizing and forging a culture of agreement is not the same as being complicit in evil with the sole aim of destroying the other, of thinking of strategies so that things go badly for the other, believing that the worse, the better.”

“This destroys us all and eats away at the foundations of the country: it is like an earthquake that never allows us to stand up,” said the cardinal primate of Argentina.

And he continued: “The past teaches us that everything we love can be destroyed based on instrumentalization and hatred, since it deprives the social body of natural defenses against
disintegration and social fragmentation, instant profit for the looters of the day and present inability to think of ourselves as a Nation.”

Origin of this celebration

The Poliedro program, which is broadcast on Canal Orbe 21, spoke with the rector of the Buenos Aires Cathedral, priest Alejandro Russo, who told about the origin and how the celebration in which President Milei will participate will develop.
