Avalanche risk in Recetor » PRENSA LIBRE CASANARE

The Government of Casanare, through Disaster Risk Management, carried out a technical inspection of the landslide over the La Vega stream, which covers approximately 4 hectares in the upper part of Pueblo Nuevo, in the municipality of Recetor.

According to the professionals assigned to said agency, the conditions of the natural phenomenon, located 1.2 km from the town center, could trigger a torrential flood (avalanche).

At the end of the visit, Mayor Diego Peña chaired a Municipal Safety Risk Management Council. Disasters, accompanied by the Departmental Administration, in which it was defined to establish an early warning system (permanent monitoring, lookouts, alarms, brigade members), an evacuation plan (routes, safe points, call chains), and a drill.

Also, on behalf of Governor César Ortiz Zorro, machinery will be sent to unclog the boxcoulvert on the main road, which has been clogged by sediment from the collapse.

In accordance with Risk Management, although no intervention can be carried out to contain the threatening phenomenon, preventive measures must be taken to the extreme, in order to protect the life and integrity of people.
