The National Institute of Roads, Invías, and the Territorial Development Bank, Findeter, through an alliance, announced the opening of calls for the contracting of the work and supervision of three road projects that will benefit the department of Magdalena, the Coffee Axis and the La Mojana region.

The first of the three projects contemplated in this alliance is the Plato-Tenerife-Pedraza-Salamina-Guaimaro-Palermo road corridor, located in the department of Magdalena. With a total investment of $198,356 million for the execution of the work and $22,040 million for the audit, this project’s primary objective is to strengthen the region’s road infrastructure. This improvement is expected to reduce travel times and optimize the connection between production areas and consumption centers, thus boosting the competitiveness of the department.

The second project focuses on the construction of a second road between Montenegro and Quimbaya, in the Coffee Region. With an estimated investment of $212,475 million for the work and $23,608 million for the audit, this project seeks to address the challenges faced by the current road infrastructure in the region. The existing road, in fair condition, is unable to cope with the high volume of daily traffic, which negatively affects economic growth and tourism in the area.

The third project, the construction of the El Cauchal-Sucre or Transversal de La Mojana road, located in the department of Sucre, will benefit the municipalities of Sucre, Majagual and San Benito Abad, in the region of La Mojana and San Jorge. With an investment of $144,852 million for the execution of the work and $16,095 million for the audit, this project aims to improve connectivity and promote economic development in a region of great importance for the country.

These initiatives are not only crucial for the productive development of Colombia, but also contribute to closing regional gaps and reducing transportation costs and expenses. These improvements in road infrastructure are expected to facilitate the marketing of products and contribute to the economic reactivation of the country as a whole.
