The five pillars that structure the recently approved Development Plan are: Alliance for security and good governance, alliance for social progress, alliance for economic development, alliance for sustainability and alliance for a rural and more sustainable Huila. These pillars not only represent clear objectives, but also firm commitments to the well-being and advancement of the department of Huila.

“Today is a very important day for the department because with the approval of this departmental development plan “For a Huila Grande” a strategic journey begins over the next four years, to make the execution of the five pillars a reality in an articulated manner. “They are established and thus be able to achieve our great goal, which is to lead the department on the path of progress,” said Camilo Ernesto Lozano Hermida, director of the Administrative Planning Department of the Huila governorate.

The multi-year investment plan, essential for the materialization of the goals, amounts to $5.2 billion, strategically distributed among various sources of financing. The majority comes from the general participation system, with an allocation of $2.7 billion, which are transfers from the Nation to the department, followed by the department’s own resources for a total of $889,000 million. In addition, the departmental government and the people of Huila will have significant contributions from the general royalty system, with $627,000 million, and a line of credit established for $90,000 million.

“Today, of course, we recognize not only the work of the departmental government, but also the judicious work of the four deputies who were part of the development plan commission, where they judiciously agreed, toured the entire department, listening to the people of Huila and Of course, it translated into this great development plan that we know will make this Huila as great as the one we all dream of,” highlighted Victoria Eugenia Castro, president of the Assembly.

Likewise, another of the planned sources of financing is coordination with the National Government, through the National Development Plan, to access additional programs and resources that strengthen the development of projects. The goal is to obtain national co-financing of more than $6,000 million, thus complementing regional efforts with the support of the Central Government.

With the approval of this plan, not only objectives are set, but solid commitments are also assumed with the comprehensive and sustainable development of the department of Huila.
