The Prosecutor’s Office confirmed that a 25-year-old man was sent to prison, who would be responsible for the death of a minor who was only 16 months old. Furthermore, in the same incident, the baby’s mother was also injured with a sharp weapon.

At the request of the Attorney General’s Office, a guarantee control judge imposed a security measure in a prison center on a 25-year-old man, who would be responsible for the death of his stepson, a 16-month-old baby, and for assaulting to his sentimental partner.

The events occurred in the early morning of May 23 in the residential sector of the Vainilla neighborhood, in Villavicencio (Meta), where the police arrived to attend to a fight inside the property.

The authorities found the man when he was apparently attacking his 20-year-old partner and his 16-month-old baby with a sharp weapon, so they had to subdue him to capture him in flagrante delicto.

The victims were taken to the hospital for treatment. However, the baby died due to multiple injuries to his skull and arms.

The Prosecutor’s Office charged him with the crimes of aggravated homicide and attempted feminicide, which were not accepted.
