The exciting Ruta 40 Challenge begins this Saturday in the city of Córdoba, marking the beginning of an adventure that will travel through some of the most impressive and challenging landscapes in Argentina.
This Saturday the Córdoba Fair Complex camp was opened to the public from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. It will be the first day of activity with the previous Shakedown for motorcycles and cars, to be held at the Laguna Azul circuit in La Calera from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. , meanwhile at the Fair Complex, there will be the pre-event press conference from 12:30.
This event, eagerly awaited by motorsport and adventure enthusiasts, brings together nationally and internationally renowned drivers and teams, ready to face the rigors of the legendary Route 40.
The test is valid for the fourth date of the World Rally Raid Championship (W2RC), which will take place between June 1 and 7. The timed competition will get underway next Sunday, June 2, with the Prologue and then will run for five days through Córdoba, San Juan and La Rioja.
For the first time in the history of the event, Córdoba will host the competition and will be the location of the entire run-up, start and finish; In addition, the landscapes of the province and its mountain roads, which breathe the passion for the rally, will be the scene of the race in stages 1 and part of 2 and 5.
The start will be a festive event, with activities for the whole family and the opportunity to see the vehicles and their drivers up close. There will be stands, exhibitions and interactive activities to enjoy this unique event.
The schedule of the first days of the Ruta 40 Challenge
In addition to the Private Tests, the weekend will have various activities for the crews that make up the current edition of the Ruta 40 Challenge and obviously also for the fans.
Sunday’s itinerary will begin at 8 with technical verifications. The first mandatory sports activity will be the Prologue, which will begin at 1:00 p.m. While, in the afternoon, there will be the starting ceremony that will have several surprises for the public from 5:30 p.m., in what will be a perfect prelude to the selection of the starting order for Stage 1 (6:30 p.m.) and the ramp at 7:30 p.m.
The test will give a score audited by the FIA (cars) and the FIM (motorcycles), it will cover five stages and 3,057 kilometers, of which 1,792 km will be timed sections and will travel through roads of Córdoba, La Rioja and San Juan. It will have three well-defined camps. In Córdoba, in the Fair Complex, in La Rioja, in the Superdome of the City Park; and in San Juan, at the El Villicum racetrack.
