The XIV ‘Ciudad de Calahorra’ Collecting Fair (Barter 2024) began yesterday in the pavilion of the Quintiliano school, which opened its doors in the morning and afternoon.

At 12:00 p.m. the inauguration of this event organized by the El Lazarillo club took place in which, in addition to surprising with the exhibition, it offers exchange and buying and selling.

The exhibition has twenty-one collections on pedestals and tables, another six youth collections and two children’s collections. There are musical ones, such as the one dedicated to the group Soziedad Alkoholika (SA), which received a visit from the bassist ‘Pirulo’ and the guitarist Íñigo, from keychains; and 3D NBA lamps, fans, Zippo lighters, porcelain dolls, soccer dolls (Athletic de Bilbao), Barbie World dolls or Rubik’s cube dolls (one of this year’s novelties), among others.

Four dioramas have also been installed: one of railway and Lego scenes, two of Playmobil and one of static modeling.

During the opening ceremony, Ricardo Jiménez Collantes was named honorary member and the Nassica Swimming Club received a tribute plaque and the Sagar Group had the distinction of honorary company.

Yesterday there was a workshop on Rubik’s cubes, buttons, a coffee gathering ‘What is a collector?’ by Ricardo Jiménez, presentation of trophies for the best collections and shop windows, and winners’ dinner at the La Viña restaurant. Apart from the jury, there was a popular vote by the public.

The program for today begins at 10:30 a.m. with the opening of the fair. At 12:00 there will be a button workshop and at 1:00 p.m. a raffle for collections, Playmobil, and a mineral lot. Closing and closure is scheduled for 2:00 p.m.

El Lazarillo gave the young people who became members a starter collection set with stamps, coins, calendars, badges and other objects.

At the fair, bookmarks, calendars, postcards and personalized stamps commemorating Barter 2024 and previous editions are sold.

In parallel, the window display competition has been held in fourteen places in the city with as many collections (irons, tourist glasses, Coca-Cola, typewriters, antiques, public works machinery and more) that will begin to be dismantled tomorrow.
