Santiago de Cuba, June 2 (RHC) The 43rd edition of the Caribbean Festival will be a success, with the confirmation of 12 nations and more than 300 participants one month before starting its activities, as announced this Sunday by its organizers.
The Brazilian state of Bahia, as guest of honor, will bring more than 100 participants to the regional event known as the “Fire Festival”; Mexico and the Dominican Republic are preparing large delegations and a revived national participation is expected in the event, which will take place from July 3 to 9.
On the event’s official website, the organizers announced the holding of 13 theoretical events parallel to the artistic presentations, among them: the international colloquium “The Caribbean that unites us” which aims to promote scientific exchange between social managers, academics, promoters cultural, social activists and public officials.
Also noteworthy are the Third Caribbean Film Festival, the international workshops “The Music of the Caribbean” and “Rooms of Caribbean Theatre”, as well as the meeting of poets from the Caribbean and the world “Jesús Cos Causse”; The Fire Festival is carried out by the Casa del Caribe with the support of the Ministry of Culture of Cuba and the Provincial Directorate of Culture of Santiago de Cuba.
For the fifth time, the Caribbean Festival will be sponsored by the company Cuba Ron SA and the Ron Santiago brand, both as hallmarks of national and local identity in a festival that is committed to the transcendence of community values and the groups that bear the vast Cuban culture. and Caribbean.
